STEM Camp Frequently Asked Questions
What are your COVID-19 safety protocols?
We are committed to the safety and care of campers and their families. All staff are fully vaccinated, we enforce frequent hand washing and spend a lot of time outdoors in our private backyard and nearby playground.
Where should I drop-off / pick-up my child for camp?
Based on age range and group size some of the camp program may take place at either Dazzling Discoveries, located at 971 Columbus Ave, between 107th and 108th st, or Skill Mill NYC location, 949 Amsterdam Ave, between 106th and 107th St. We will notify you of the location when you register for camp.
What is the structure of a typical camp day?
The core camp day runs from 9AM-3PM with extended hours available. Campers create a hands-on project in the morning followed by lunch around 11AM. After lunch all campers go to the playground where there are play structures, swings, and sprinkler as well as balls to play with and outdoor activities. In the afternoon campers have snack followed by afternoon activity. During the course of a day campers create a project to take home. They may also build with engineering toys, play indoor and outdoor games, learn to weave or crochet, conduct science experiments, design and create custom 3D printed trinkets, explore electronics and much more!
What does my child need to bring to camp?
All campers should bring their own lunch and water bottle. During the summer please pack bathing suit, water shoes and change of clothes. In winter we recommend bringing shoes if your child wears boots to camp. Snack is provided, but campers are welcome to bring and eat their own snack. If your child is staying late, we recommend packing a second lunch for a more complete afternoon snack.
